CENTERED & SELF-HONORING
A Codependency Healing Workshop

Sunday march 26, 2:00-5:00PM | Madrona, Seattle | $87

Wouldn’t it be amazing to feel more grounded, and less influenced by the moods of those around you? To feel more anchored and steady inside yourself, and less thrown off-balance by other people’s feelings and actions? To feel more relaxed, and less guarded in your relationships?

It’s only natural to want the people in our lives to be feel good—and in many cases, this is a positive thing.

But there’s a fine line between goodwill (wanting others to be well) and emotional codependency: relying on other people feeling okay for us to feel okay… and when they don’t, attempting to ease our own anxiety by compulsively trying to manage, control, rescue, fix, or change their experience.

When we teeter into the realm of emotional codependency, our frantic efforts to stabilize the other person end up destabilizing us, leading us to abandon our own feelings and needs and/or to search for them in another person. This is a slippery slope that lends itself to hypervigilance and over-giving, and in turn leaves us feeling chronically drained, unappreciated, and resentful in our connections.

Releasing the impulse to track and manage other people’s experiences can feel foreign and vulnerable at first, but it’s one of the best ways to truly show up for ourselves—and in turn, be genuinely present with the people in our lives.

When we bend over backward trying to make sure everyone else is okay or trying to get them to behave how we want, we end up running ourselves ragged and taking on burdens that were never ours to carry. When we instead focus on becoming grounded and self-connected, we can show up so much more joyful, relaxed and authentic with those around us.

Join us for a cozy afternoon workshop to help you find ways to stay centered and self-honoring!

This 3-hour workshop will guide you to:

  • Identify the situations and people that tend to bring up self-abandonment and codependency for you

  • Develop a more compassionate relationship with these patterns inside yourself

  • Learn tools to self-soothe, ground in your own energy and stop taking on so much responsibility for other people

  • Practice new ways of approaching social settings that allow you to find and maintain inner balance

  • Release old ways of reacting to your loved ones and lean toward new, healthier patterns of relating

This workshop is for you if:

  • You have a tendency to merge with other people’s emotions and blank out on your own

  • You notice yourself fixating on how others are feeling or behaving, and/or trying to control their experience

  • You easily fall into rescuer mode and take it upon yourself to resolve other people’s issues for them

  • You’re hypersensitive to how people are doing around you, and often feel on edge and uptight in social settings as a result

  • You want to feel less vigilant and more relaxed spending time with the people in your life

  • You want to find a calm inner center even when others are going through challenging feelings or experiences
